How to use the Instagram to MP4

Open the Reel or video, tap the share arrow or the three dots, then Copy link.
Paste and press Get MP4
Paste the link above. The video loads with its length and the file size of each version.
Save the MP4
Choose a version and the MP4 downloads. On iPhone, open it from the Files app and use Share, then Save Video.
What you get
Save any public Reel or video as an MP4 file.
Real MP4, no conversion
Instagram already stores video as MP4. We fetch that file and do not re-encode it, so it keeps its original picture quality.
File size shown
Each version lists its size before you save, which helps when you are on mobile data.
Plays almost everywhere
An H.264 option is offered for phones, TVs and programs that cannot open newer codecs.
Reels, feed videos, IGTV
One box handles all three kinds of Instagram video.
Sound included
Higher qualities are joined with their audio for you, so the MP4 plays with sound.
A clean file
No logo or end card is added to the video.
What Instagram to MP4 really means
MP4 is a container: a wrapper that holds a video track and an audio track. Instagram stores its Reels and videos as MP4 files with H.264 video and AAC sound, so there is no other format to convert from. A page that offers Instagram to MP4 is fetching that stored file for you. A site that claims to convert is doing the same fetch plus an extra step that can only lower the quality.
That is why this page takes a second or two and never asks you to wait for a conversion. The version you pick is the same file the Instagram app plays, packaged as a download.
Why people want an MP4 file
Instagram keeps videos inside the app. An MP4 file can be trimmed in the Photos app or a video editor, played offline, sent in a chat, shown on a TV from a USB stick, or kept as a backup of a Reel you made yourself.
Save videos for personal use, for content you made, or with the creator's permission. The creator keeps the rights to the video, and a downloaded copy does not change that.
Choosing a version when several MP4s are listed
The list can show several MP4 versions of the same video. The default is H.264 at about 720p with the sound already inside, and it opens almost everywhere. Higher versions, up to 1080p, are stored as a separate picture track and sound track, which we join into one MP4 in a few seconds without re-encoding. Lower versions are smaller and suit a slow connection.
If a TV, an older phone or an editing program refuses a high-quality file, go back and take the H.264 option. The size beside each version shows the cost before you save.
Reel to MP4 on iPhone, Android and a computer
On Android the MP4 lands in Downloads, and most gallery apps list it in a Download album. On iPhone, Safari saves it to the Downloads list in the Files app; open it, tap Share and choose Save Video to put it in Photos. On a computer it goes to your browser's download folder and opens in any media player. The guides under How to download show every tap for each device.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about the Instagram to MP4.
How do I convert an Instagram Reel to MP4?
You do not need to convert it. Paste the Reel link above, press Get MP4 and choose a version. The file Instagram stores for the Reel is already an MP4, so it downloads as one.
Is the MP4 the same quality as on Instagram?
Yes. It is the file Instagram serves, not a re-encoded copy. The list only shows versions that exist for that video, up to 1080p.
Can I save an Instagram video to MP4 without a watermark?
We add none. If the creator put a logo or caption into the picture, it is part of their upload and stays in the file.
Why will the MP4 not play on my TV or older phone?
Some high-quality versions use a newer video codec. Choose the H.264 option in the list, which plays on nearly every device.
How big is the MP4 file?
It depends on the length and the quality. A short Reel is small and a long feed video can be much larger, so check the size shown beside each version.
Can I convert an Instagram video to MP4 on iPhone?
Yes, in Safari. Paste the link, tap the version you want, open the download from the Files app and use Share, then Save Video to move it into Photos.
Can I get several Instagram videos as MP4 at once?
Use the bulk downloader. It looks up to ten links in one go and gives each result its own download button.
Does it work for IGTV and videos inside carousels?
Yes. IGTV links and the videos inside a carousel post are listed separately, each as its own MP4.
